SKF GEP Series Spherical Plain Bearing: This series is classed as maintenance free radial spherical plain bearings. Comprising of sliding contact surfaces of bearing steel against PTFE polymer fibres with a steel backing these spherical plain bearings are unsealed and require no maintenance. Application: Suitable for heavy, constant direction loads, where low friction is required; limited suitability for alternating loads, shock loads; relatively insensitive to contaminants. The GEP series has a radially split outer ring that is separable to assist mounting, its is self lubricating and supplied factory greased , it does not require further lubrication however lubrication holes and annular grooves in both inner and outer raceway are provided in the event that further lubrication is required as this can extend the bearing life. Benefits: Maintenance free operation. |
